INDIANAPOLIS – Former Congressman Andy Jacobs, Jr. endorsed Dan Forestal for State Representative in the open Indiana House District 100, being vacated by retiring Representative John Day. “Representative John Day is one of the finest public officials who ever lived, or ever will live. Now, Dan Forestal is in line to succeed John – very good news for Indianapolis,” announced Jacobs. “Congressman Jacobs is a living legacy and one of my earliest inspirations to become a public servant. I’m humbled that he has the confidence in me to carry on the life’s work that he and Representative Day have dedicated to our community. I am incredibly grateful for his support and for his service to Indianapolis and the United States of America as a State Representative and Congressman,” Forestal responded to the news of the endorsement. Jacobs served in the Indiana House of Representatives from 1959 to 1960 before representing Indiana’s 7th Congressional District for 14 terms from 1964 until his retirement in 1997. Jacobs has authored multiple books and lives in Indianapolis with his wife, Kim Hood Jacobs, and two sons. Indiana House District 100 represents areas on Indianapolis’ east and near south sides. Indiana AFL-CIO Endorses Dan Forestal for State Representative in Democratic Primary

INDIANAPOLIS – Nancy Guyott, President of the Indiana AFL-CIO announced the endorsement of Dan Forestal for State Representative in the Democratic Primary for Indiana House District 100.

“We believe that Dan Forestal will fight the hardest for Indiana’s working families,” said Guyott.

“The Indiana AFL-CIO is focused on restoring balance in our government, and creating greater economic opportunity for all citizens, and to improve the quality of life here in Indiana. Dan shares the same focus,” Guyott continued.

“It’s an honor for me to know that the Indiana AFL-CIO stands behind my candidacy. Under the current political climate, working men and women have been under attack. I have fought for, and will continue to fight for the hard-working families in House District 100, and the State of Indiana,” stated Forestal in response to the endorsement.

The Indiana AFL-CIO serves as the umbrella organization for trade unions within the state of Indiana and is the largest organization of working citizens in the state.

Indiana House District 100 represents areas on Indianapolis’ east and near south sides. Forestal is the Democratic Party supported candidate.
